LIBERTY HORSE FARM

Liberty Farm is a dedicated to fostering the special bond between people and horses in a fun and safe manner. Horse welfare is our primary concern which is reflected in all levels of our teaching. Liberty Farm offers very diverse opportunities to riders of all ages with goals ranging from weekly pleasure rides to national competition.

 

KathyOsbourne   Kathy Osborn

Kathy is the Proprietor, Head Instructor, and Founder of Liberty Farm. She gained her first experience from a successful junior career on the USEF “A” Circuit. She qualified for all three national finals her last two junior years and placed thirteenth in the U.S.E.T. national talent search finals. She was a working student for some of the country’s more prominent professionals. She has also competed up to the Grand Prix level. Many of her students have won state titles and championships at prominent horse shows. She founded Liberty Farm in 1990 after earning a BS from The Ohio State University.
Heather   Heather Valentine

Heather Valentine joined the Liberty Farm team in December 2005 as Barn Manager and Assistant Riding Instructor. She earned both a BS and an MS from Southwest Missouri State University. Heather’s riding instruction experience started in 1995 and continued through her years at the university. Heather has continued her own riding education throughout her career with regular dressage clinics with Jane Wagner. Upon completion of her degrees, Heather decided to focus her career goals on teaching riding. She has a unique
passion for her job and she has a wonderful way of making riding fun!
  SueCoen_LibertyHorseFarm   Sue Coen

Sue earned both a BS and a MS in Education from Kent State University and Lake Erie College respectively. Upon graduation Sue and her husband started a lesson program which included College of Wooster and Ashland College students. The students earned physical education credit through her program. From 1971-1980 Sue taught Horse Management Technology at The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute. From 1980-1987 Sue focused on her private breeding and training business. In 1987 Sue joined the Equine Studies department at Lake Erie College and eventually became the Associate Dean of Equine Studies. During her tenure at LEC Sue revitalized their IHSA team winning many region, zone, and national awards. Sue is currently IHSA Zone 6 Region 1 President and a member of the Board of Directors.
